Founded in 1949, Manalapan Township Fire Co. No. 1 is dedicated to providing exceptional fire protection and emergency services to the Manalapan community. Our team of highly trained volunteers is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of our neighbors. With a proud history of service, we strive to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and dedication in all our efforts.

Our Misson

The purpose of this organization is for the protection of life, property, and the environment from fire and to render whatever aid is in our power to those in need.

The Manalapan Township Fire Company #1 has provided community-based fire service since 1949. We are a charitable community supported organization that provides the highest level of fire protection and rescue services for residents and businesses of the Township of Manalapan. We are a comprised of a diverse group of volunteers dedicated to providing professional, ethical, and the utmost care to those in need.

Who Are We?

Manalapan Township Fire Company #1 is an all-volunteer organization. We are staffed completely by volunteers and there are no paid volunteers on our roster. Our organization is comprised of memebrs that vary in age, occupation, and skill level.

What We Do?

Manalapan Township Fire Company #1 provides around-the-clock fire protection and rescue services to the residents and businesses of Manalapan Township. On occasion, the organization provides mutal aid to support surrounding towns, including but not limited to, Englishtown, Millstone, and Freehold Township.

History of Manalapan Township Fire Company No. 1

On September 13, 1949, the first fire company for Manalapan Township was established by a small group of 20 Manalapan residents. They formed this fire company for the purpose of protecting property and life from fire. The first Manalapan fire house was located on State Highway 33, which is known today as the Manalapan Township Community Center.

Today, the Manalapan Township Fire Company No. 1 is still in operation in our new firehouse, which is located at 5 Sweetmans Lane. Our fire company turned 75 years old on September 13, 2024, and to this day we are still 100% volunteer.
