Saturday, January 10, 2015 At approximately 8:00 PM, Manalapan Township Fire Co. 1 and Englishtown Fire Department were dispatched to Pine Brook School for a report of smoke coming from the building. Englishtown Fire Dept (12-1), in the middle of a standby at their station, responded quickly to the scene. Upon arrival of Engine 12-74 and Manalapan PD, units were updated with a report of nothing showing from the exterior. 26-2-67 arrived and all other units were advised to hold in quarters. Further investigation revealed that a passerby saw white smoke coming from the heating exhaust on the roof of the building. All units cleared the scene shortly before 8:30 PM with no further incident. Just over 2 hours later, Manalapan Township Fire Co.1, along with Freehold Twp Independent (16-1) and Freehold Boro (Station 15) were dispatched to a reported fire at Applewood Estates, Freehold Township. The Monmouth County 911 Center received multiple calls of an apartment fire with possible entrapment. Units arrived on scene and were able to extinguish the fire about 20 minutes after dispatch. Freehold First Aid treated a total of 4 patients, including someone that was rescued from the apartment by Applewood Maintenance Dept. All units cleared the scene just before midnight. Also assisting was Freehold Township PD, MONOC, Freehold Twp Fire Bureau, and the Monmouth County Fire Marshall. Adelphia Fire Company (19-2) was assigned to Station 16-1 to answer any additional dispatches.
