The pagers went off for firefighters from Manalapan Township Fire Co. 1 at around 3:20 AM, alerting firefighters to a fire alarm at a residence on Oakland Mills Rd. Manalapan Police officers arrived first and report a smoke condition on the outside of the residence. This updated report prompted Asst. Chief Genieczko to strike a full first alarm assignment, bringing in units from Millstone Fire Dept and Englishtown Fire Dept. Firefighters were able to gain entry into the unoccupied residence and confirmed a heavy smoke condition with no visible fire. During the primary search of the residence, it was determined that fire was travelling within the walls of the house. Command requested the Western Monmouth Tanker Task Force due to a lack of hydrants in the area. While units were operating inside the residence, Operations made the announcement that the fire was now through the roof. Due to water supply problems, Command requested a full 3rd alarm response. The fire was placed under control at approximately 4:50 AM. 1 firefighter from Manalapan Township Fire Co. 1 was treated for a back injury. Responding agencies included Manalapan Township Fire Co 1 (26-2), Englishtown Fire Dept (12-1), Millstone Fire Dept (32-1), Gordons Corner Fire Co (26-1), Jamesburg Fire Dept, Freehold Independent (16-1) Cranbury Fire Dept, Monroe Station 57, Adelphia Fire Co (19-2), Morganville Fire Co (28-3), Freehold Boro Fire Dept ( Station 15), Englishtown-Manalapan First Aid (26-21), Freehold First Aid (15-21), Monmouth County Fire Marshalls ( District 93), and Manalapan Police.
