At around 6:30 AM, firefighters from Manalapan Twp Fire Co.1 and Englishtown Fire Dept were roused from their sleep for a reported fire on Main St. in Englishtown with possible entrapment. Englishtown police arrived and confirmed a working structure fire with flames showing. Residents in the neighborhood gave conflicting reports of whether or not there was someone in the building. The first fire dept units arrived on scene and struck a 2nd alarm, bringing in multiple departments from surrounding towns. A primary search of the residence was completed by firefighters and revealed no one inside the house. At approximately 7:10 AM, command ordered all firefighters to evacuate the building due to possible collapse. The fire was declared knocked down at around 7:50 AM. As units were cleaning up on scene and at their respective firehouses, a 2nd possible structure fire was reported in Manalapan. Firefighters responded, and upon investigation found no fire. Departments operating in Englishtown included Englishtown Fire Dept (12-1), Manalapan Twp Fire Co.1 (26-2), Gordons Corner Fire Co. (26-1), Monroe Station 57, Monroe Station 23, NWS Earle (94-1), Jamesburg Fire Department, Freehold Boro Fire Dept (Station 15), Freehold Independent Fire Co.1 (16-1), Monroe EMS, Englishtown-Manalapan Fire Aid (26-21), Freehold First Aid (15-21), and the Monmouth County Fire Marshals Office. All units cleared the scene with no reported injuries.
