History of Manalapan Township Fire Company no. 1.

On september 13, 1949 THE FIRST FIRE COMPANY FOR MANALAPAN TOWNSHIP WAS ESTABLISHED BY A SMALL GROUP OF 20 MANALAPAN RESIDENTS. THEY FORMED THIS FIRE COMPANY FOR THE PURPOSE TO PROTECT PROPERTY AND LIFE FROM FIRE. THE FIRST MANALAPAN FIRE HOUSE WAS LOCATED ON STATE HIGHWAY 33 WHICH IS KNOWN TODAY AS THE MANALAPAN TOWNSHIP COMMUNUITY CENTER.

TODAY THE MANALAPAN TOWNSHIP FIRE COMPANY NO. 1. IS STILL IN OPERATION IN OUR NEW FIREHOUSE WHICH IS LOCATED AT 5 SWEETMANS LANE. OUR FIRE COMPANY WILL BE 75 YEARS OLD ON SEPTEMBER 13, 2023, AND TILL THIS DAY WE ARE STILL 100% VOLUNTEER.
